297 × 420 mm, 2026, opus number : nt.3951

A piece sketched from sounds recorded at Kanda Myojin Shrine, capturing its soundscape.

Though in central Tokyo, the grounds were strikingly quiet.
Coins hit the box, gravel crunched—and the silence that followed felt unexpectedly deep.

soundscape - raw

A drawing series that sketches the soundscape of a place, guided by nothing but field-recorded sound.

Letting go of landscapes and emotions to face the sound itself. The recorded sound is re-recorded onto cassette tape to transform its texture, then listened to while sketching by hand, and finished in graphite through dialogue with a pen plotter.
